It has the following characteristics, uses and advantages:

- Characteristics:
- Unique structure: Solid wood sawdust is made into a unique tubular structure, similar to the arch of a bridge. This structure makes the board form a large number of hollow areas inside while ensuring a certain strength.
- Special physical properties: The density is relatively low, generally 0.35 - 0.55g/cm³, much lower than that of flat-pressed particleboard, making the board lightweight. The water absorption expansion rate in the thickness direction is small, but the longitudinal static bending strength is relatively low. However, after veneering treatment, it can meet the national standard requirements of ordinary particleboard.
- Good thermal insulation performance: There is air in the tubular core of the hollow chipboard. The thermal conductivity of air is poor, so it can effectively prevent the spread of temperature and has good thermal insulation effect. A 40mm thick hollow board is equivalent to the thermal insulation effect of a 300mm thick brick wall.
- Excellent sound insulation performance: The unique structure and hollow design can effectively absorb and block the transmission of sound, and the sound insulation effect is better. Usually, the sound insulation can reach about 28 decibels.
- Good compressive performance: When subjected to a certain pressure, it can evenly distribute the external force and is not easy to deform. It will not deform even when subjected to a pressure of 2MPa.

- Uses:
- Door core material: It is an ideal door core material for wooden doors and can be used for various types of wooden doors, such as aluminum frame doors, fireproof doors, molded doors, shaped doors, flat panel doors, etc.
- Decoration filling material: It can be used for filling in decoration parts such as partition walls and screens to play the role of sound insulation, heat insulation and reducing weight.
- Furniture filling material: Used for internal filling of furniture, such as the back panel and side panel of wardrobes and cabinets, reducing the weight of furniture while ensuring strength.

- Advantages:
- Good environmental protection: In the production process, urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive can be used and the amount of adhesive applied is small, reducing the free formaldehyde emission of the board, and the environmental protection index is easier to meet relevant standards.
- Low cost: On the one hand, for manufacturing boards of the same volume, much less raw materials are used for hollow particleboard than for ordinary particleboard. On the other hand, fewer equipment is required for production, simplifying the process flow and reducing operating costs and equipment maintenance expenses.
- Not easy to deform: Overcomes the inherent deformation problem of wood.
